PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Icon_minitimeTue Oct 09, 2012 8:07 pm

The pack meeting had started quicker than she had thought. The wolves had gathered around where Damean was. Her mind couldn't pay attension for long as her hazel eyes looked down to the green grass, that swayed slowly. Her brown coat layed flat on her body, but every once in a while, a piece of fur flaked up and blew in the very slight breeze. Kali couldn't help...but think of her past, where she had come from. Her home. Her memories of her home and her father and her leadership.

The first of her memories was when her birth mother and father was running in the forest. She was in her mother's maw, when she was only 5 weeks old, after she had been weaned. Her blue orbs looked down to her paws and legs, blood covered in them to her knees. Kali licked her mouth to the taste of metalic liquid on her tongue. It was wicked and foul to her, as she coughed and spit to get it out. Her parents come to a stop and she was dropped on the ground from her mother's mouth. She yipped when she hit the ground, and saw a dark brown wolf. The voices of her parents and the wolf in front of her rung in her head.

"This is the one that you said could because the leader?"

"Yes. We are her parents, but we have been in a battle, and won't make it long. Will you take her under your wing?"

"...I guess that I could, since she will most likely be a punching bag for our other wolves."

"But..."

Then she heard her parents faint, blood landing in front of her...then she saw black..

Her next memory was a month after her parents had trusted the bru to take care of her. He had taken her under his wing and wanted to train her to be the rightful leader of the allicance. His name was Ra's Al Ghul, which she had learned after a day of being there. But one day, she was put into a ditch that would fit two wolves, with room for them to circle with space. He was going to send wolves down to attack the pup. For countless weeks and months, she was a punching bags to the other assassins and warriors in her pack. The tears that she had shed could had made a river full. The blood that she had lost could had made a ocean of red water. But one day in the ring, when she was 1 year old, she knew that all the wolves was enemies...she killed the next wolf that stepped in the ring with her. She had looked all of her victims in the eyes when she struck. That was why she didn't look at wolves in the eye, scared that they would be a victim.

The last memory was when her home was in a blaze. The fire had killed everyone. Except her, Ra's, and Hugo. Hugo had been her friend since she had come. Ra's had brought Kali to a huge log and was going to set her off into the river, hoping that she would find land. He had yelled to her that she was the new leader of assassins, yet Hugo and Ra's had an argument that she could hear.

"I'm the rightful leader of assassins, Ra's. Not some female that cried until she was a year old because of being beaten!"

"It's MY decision who takes my place! Not some mutt that thinks that he can do what I've seen come out of the young fem that I know can BE the rightful leader!"

Then he growled to Kali, yelling to her that he would get his revenge...he would find her..then Ra's and Hugo was hidden behind the flames...

She had missed what the others had said and that another bru had come about them. Her eyes finally froze off of what she had been looking at for minutes. She had to clear her mind, go out alone for a couple minutes. She stood quietly and looked to Damean, looking at his forehead, so that it looked like she was looking him in the eyes, hoping that she could possibly be excused from being here. She needed to be alone. At least for a little while. To think. About her past, about her leadership that she had been given from Ra's...about Hugo.

Fang had nodded to the young bru, accepting the kind invitation to stay. The pack gathering was upon them quickly, as Damean had taken front and center, while his own form slinked the perimeter. Fang’s movements were inconspicuous; there was no hiding his presence, but there was no need to bring attention to newcomer, who now sought the spoils of their kill. Grateful, though he would never say it, his ivories exposed themselves to the chilled atmosphere around the meeting, silently gripping into still-warm hide and bone. He took the solemn share to a gap between wolves, his light orbs absorbing those now suddenly speaking. Hmm. A democratic weigh-in. This was different. Hell of a lot more orderly than he was accustomed to. The request Damean had made to the pack while Fang briefly acquainted himself with nourishment seemed honest at the least; Fang could not see how the young wolf at this point in time could have a much different level experience than another bru of the same age, other than the ties of blood. He watched intently as the others spoke. The white femme closest to him seemed to permeate with suppressed rage, wanting to spar the boy king herself. He could feel the blood in their veins aching to race each other, for endorphins to spin into a wild hurricane only mastered by those who knew what real fighting was. He was familiar with the feeling; it always crept around in his mind, forever pacing like a starving predator livid for the next opportunity at victory. Aside from that, the others seemed genuinely concerned to some extent, recognizing how the young one should develop if he is to lead them into the abyss that is the future. As for Fang, he held his tongue; he just got here. In due time he would hope to learn the others, to find out the interworkings of this pack and the details he would need to identify in these wolves if he was to survive with them. With that settled in his head, he cautiously allowed his pillars to relax, finally settling among the group as he sat on his white chest.

What a terribly boring trip, it had yielded such potential, but words had only been spared. Nothing irritated him more than to have had to sit through a lecture, there was to much bark, and nothing to sink ivories through. However, the little gathering had provided some interesting news. Dogs have taken over a territory. Mutts and hounds, a descendant that belonged to humans. It was silly of them to think they couldn't be free of a master and his leash, and with no doubt to try and take all the lands of a higher species. Foolish. Dark mitts kicked up dust, leaving a faint print that disappeared with the wind. These pondering thoughts danced his attention away from the surrounding desert. But a hessian wasn't deaf, and from behind came a thunderous sound. Vividly, and morphing with the heat waves, a large cloud was coming forth. Ocean hues faintly making out the forms of prey, the certainty of the form of elk. Zai slowed to a halt, training auds and sharp oculars on the sight before him. The faint forms of elk in a large line could be made, already that was to close. Mitts dug into the terra at a light pace, there was much to contemplate with such a scenario. For there was no doubt that this herd was large, the sound of their numbers echoed through their hooves. And they faced the same direction as Zai, Jabbar Junayd.

There was enough distance to get far ahead of them, and his pillars began to do so. Soon the distance increased, and the sandy flew behind him sharply. The sand gave way to plains, and then to the reds and oranges of fall. There was an audible crunch each time his mitts met the ground, taking no care to hide his arrival. His pace slowed only when the familiarity of the land became more apparent, a place that was no home to him but he found his rests here. Soon he was slipping fluidly and silently through the land, his dark coat a standout against the moonlight, a deepset blue hue materializing. There was time to have his cake and eat it too, there usually was questions whenever one slips out for a while. Regardless of that, the more pressing issue was, did he warn his 'fellow' packmembers? The thought crossed swiftly through Zai, and a smirk stretched his jowls.

Soon he was upon the place he had left from, the hill overlooking the valley that the kill had been done. This, was prime time target for the herd. It was a cut dry migration, only the second he had experienced. In and out of the lands of FnI as quickly as possible, less casualties if its hundreds of them. The stragglers were always possible targets for a meal, and an easy kill for a pack. But Jabbar had already killed, before him lay the wolves and the last meal. No, these elk would trample the land he looked down upon. Still, time was his, and the drake slinked down to the little gathering. Once more the nonchalant, careless recognizable Zaiaku. His mitts brought him right up to the gathering, and haunches dropped to the terra. Azure hues took views of each wolf, but no lyrics spilled, his crania dipped for Damean but no one else. A swift shift of lanterns, he noted a presence, a daunting familiarity, but his discretion was high. White. And back as well it seemed.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Icon_minitimeFri Nov 02, 2012 3:34 pm

Petra listened closely as some of the others stepped up and said their part as well. Bloodeye seemed hardly to give any advice, it seemed like she was more interested in challenging young Damean, and it made the healer wonder why the femme kept coming back at all. Shrugging, she turned away with a slight shake of her head. Some of it may not be what the young wolf wanted to hear, but it would all be useful at some point. As she listened, her eyes caught sight of the two new arrivals. One seemed to slink by Akiko and settle near her, and for some reason he looked quite familiar, though she was sure she'd never seen him before. Akiko did not seem pleased by his presence, but she was in no hurry to chase him off, either; he must not be a threat, but perhaps an irritant. Trying not to stare, she looked away from him and set her attention for a moment onto the other male, who sat quietly by himself, finishing off a morsel taken from the pack's kill. She hadn't noticed him earlier, but someone must have invited him to share their meal, and it seemed he was to join their ranks. Letting out a sigh, Petra looked away from him now, satisfied that there was nothing to be concerned about with the two males. However, it was a third, silent presence that slipped in amongst them that caused a slight tingling along her spine and the hair on her neck to rise. She turned her head slowly, leafy green orbs shifting to land upon the dark-pelted, mysterious hessian Zaiaku. He had always given Petra the chills, for his ways were shifty and he reminded her of the wolves that had once flooded the lands when she was no more than a whelp. Back then, she hadn't dared venture off on her own, afraid of who she might meet on the territory. Looking away from him, she tried to settle herself down. She didn't know the bru well enough to keep judging him by what she saw, but she wasn't sure how she would ever go about meeting him unless he came to her with an injury.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Rawbones

Rawbones watched Exodus stand forward and let forth her voice before the watching wolves. He knew she was worried about the boy, her little brother, even if not by blood. He just hoped that she would never become so concerned that it consumed her. Damean could only take so much advice from them, the rest was up to him. Nobody could make his decisions for him, they could only try to guide him. As she finished her little bit, he watched her turn around and walk back towards him. She smiled at him. Puzzled by her mixed signals and fluctuating emotions, he pondered for a moment if it was her heat coming on. The thought made his tail shift awkwardly and claws dig into the ground. As she sat down beside him, nostrils flared slightly as he couldn't help himself to scent the air, wondering if even a sniff of that intoxicating smell lingered on the air. Nothing yet, but her own scent was enough, and he took in a deep breath. The older male wanted to return to their comfortable position, leaning into one another, but he knew they needed to sort something out. He didn't want to seem like a fool and keep pushing himself on her if that was not what she wanted. At the same time, he was not willing to just let her go, if there was as much as a glimmer of hope to keep her.

He was distracted but for a moment when he noticed a familiar presence join the pack once more. Glancing around, silver pools set themselves upon the black-pelted male who sat silently amongst them, as though he'd never been away. Something in his eyes seemed to say he knew something that they didn't, but his lips were sealed as he nodded to Damean and gave a quick glance around. Rawbones turned away from him, shrugging it off. He was more interested to see how this meeting would end, and when it did end, he might have some time to spend with Exodus and find out what was really going on. He ached to just know. Keeping it all under wraps for now, Rawbones looked to the young King with a neutral expression upon his visage; he waited to see what Damean would do or say, or if he had any business for them to attend to.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Bloodeye-1

A maniacal grin overcame the femme's light, cream-coloured mask as she saw fury boil under the young King's pelt. What an interesting relationship this one would be. She knew what it felt like to be challenged by underlings, but she was beginning to realize now just how much fun it was going to be. Was this what it was like to be the minion who got under their leader's skin? She almost felt like she could forgive all the fools who had at some point mocked her or tried to overthrow her. Almost. Her claws dug into the sod, anticipation reeling through her veins now. This was going to be great. They could butt heads on anything, she was sure. Even if the debate made no sense, with not a point to be made, they would bicker just to keep their hatred alive for one another. It made her want to say more, but she would keep herself silent for now. Instead, she cast her gaze around the gathered wolves, noting two unfamiliar males; one seemed to bother Akiko, the other sat by himself without a word, blood staining his maw from a recent meal. She caught the glance that one had cast her, as he noticed her rage with some sort of quiet, knowing attitude. She huffed, turning away.

Only moments later it seemed that a more familiar presence joined the wolves, his azure pools taking note of each wolf here. Bloodeye turned, her crimson orbs meeting his just as his gaze shifted quickly over her, his attention reserved at the moment. Energy pulsed throughout her body, making her skin hot and muscles itching to move; she wanted to place herself closer to him, but she knew he would catch the scent of the male that still clung to her coat, much as she had tried to rid herself of it. Should she even try to hide it? Did it matter? She wasn't sure, all she knew was the way his presence drew her in, like it always did. But there was a poison between them, one she was willing to indulge in over and over again, but she was sure he grew tired of it. And that toxic gap that she longed to fill, well it would only become stronger when he discovered what she'd done. She found herself in a turmoil, something she wasn't used to. She wanted to turn a cold shoulder to the matter, for she was certain that was how he would handle this; yet, she found that she could not. Why was it that this single, dark hessian caused her so much distress within, so much desire, and yet she had strayed so far from him? Letting her gaze fall downward down, she sat quietly in her own world of havoc.

OOC - Was going to wait on Kippy to bother with a post, but wanted to keep my charries going and hoping to get activity moving here XD.

She sat as silent as a ghost next to Damean, listening to what her fellow pack-members had to say. Heliotrope orbs watched as Akiko issued a warning growl to the young male, while not a threat, wasn't welcomed with open arms, either. He seemed so familiar, and so... out of place. The only rationalization she could come to was that he was related to someone, likely Akiko. Echo never would have guessed Akiko to be the kind of have family. For all she knew, this could be her son, but the boy had too much bulk on his shoulders to suggest that. No, he wasn't her son. But they were related, somehow. Echo couldn't put her paw on it. She watched as another male entered the scene; she guessed that he was the one Damean had been talking to earlier. He ripped off a chunk of meat and sat in the background, having nothing to contribute to the conversation.

Auds perked at Bloodeye's challenged. She glanced at Damean; she had yet to see him fight. Echo held her breath. She didn't want to see him hurt, but... it was then that her eyes strayed to Rawbones, who was now sitting next to Exodus. Echo knew that she, herself, would have to learn to fight too, and it wouldn't just be an opponent. It would be against herself. A chord of fear held tight to her sternum... Losing control... It was terrifying. The damage had been done. She didn't know where Daija was now... She feared she had scared the fem off, and now, who knew if she would ever return to Jabbar? Guilt weighed in her stomach. If she could apologize, she would, but would an apology ever heal a scar? No. No, it wouldn't.

Though her eyes were on the ground at this point, it was not to say that she didn't notice another presence silently join them. Call it intuition, a keen observation, or a sixth sense, she found herself gazing at Zaiku next... His azure eyes swirled with mystery and danger. He knew something. There was a shift in the air, at that point, particularly in Bloodeye's; the hair on the back of her neck was raised, and it was clear to see that she was agitated about something. What it was, Echo only had to guess that it had to do with Zaiku. She glanced at Damean; it was glance that said she was here for him, but there were certain things that needed to take care of. Certain things that nobody else cared to address, for whatever reason.

She excused herself from Damean's side without a word. She sauntered behind him and behind the others, her footsteps quiet on the soft swamp grass. She slunk up beside Zaiku and sat down, chin down and eyes on Damean. The bru was obviously hiding something, and causing a ruckus about it was no way to do it. "You know something," was all she said to him. It was the first time she had spoken to him since the cave incident weeks ago. She had grown since that day, fully-grown come fall, but her head and shoulders were still slightly lower than his. Regardless, there was physical proof that she was no longer the scared little girl he had frightened in the cave. No one seemed to know him or question him. Perhaps it was because they were smart enough not to mess with him, or because they were afraid. To Echo, there was a first time for everything. And that included getting to know Zaiku.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Icon_minitimeSat Nov 03, 2012 12:30 am

A brief hidden smirk crossed his kissers. There was an air about her, but did the others notice? It had been a while since her sinful form graced his pools, what a terrible gift fae's had. Persuasion would be easy on more simple minded hessians. How glorious it could be to be so blissfully ignorant, but even the inquisitive were shaken. There was little left of a heart beating within his ribs, the remains a charred remnant of affection. That hole had been burned cycles ago, the seasons had passed so quickly now, in retrospect. The agitation was enough, she had done something...Regrettably? He withheld another smirk, the silence was drawing enough attention. His tongue was quick and poisonous, that was a trait he was certain the others saw. Silence was suspicious, which in itself made him stifle a chuckle. Ocean hues remained focused upon the terra, in a ponderous mood. The movements of the wolves in sharp peripherals. Hues lifted only on occasion, a quick glance over the wolves. Once more settling on Bloodeye, his pools holding nothing, an expressionless void. Death might as well have stared at the white fae, and a smirk crept across his jowls. It was a brief moment, and then once more the earth became more interesting.

The slinking movement was stark against everyone else solid frames, and the form became familiar quickly. Such a shame they grow up so fast, so much less susceptible to sway. It was a curious thing, those two had told no one of their encounter within the cave. The naivete was gone now, he could see that by her stride. It was a curious thing to watch Echo make her way over to his side, they had never spoken before. He hadn't needed to, he had spoken with Damean countless times. That budding king was something intriguing to see, and so far Zai saw a form of respect. To think it would go to a whelp! These others had more proving to do, and it seemed at least one was taking an initiative. The moment she took her seat, the air about him lightened. The shadow silence lifted, and a perpetual grin shined through. Zaiaku lowered himself to her height, the distance having dramatically shortened. "Ah...you know something too." Lyrics held all the tones of a jester, and his eyes fell on her, begging for contact. "Do you normally speak to someone without addressing their presence?" There was a challenge built in his lyrics. "Or is he truly that magnificent?" The last words a whisper for Echo's auds only.

He had found his catch, and the bait was silence. Perhaps it would happen more often then. Echo was aware of his secret, but the fae wasn't going to get it easily. There was a brief fleeting feeling of budding loyalty, she was smart and Damean would rule well with her at his side. It was admirable, but loyalty was a process, so far it was questionable. So bold was she to wander to him with and inquiring accusation, and no decency for eye contact. Pity, he had hopes. His gaze lifted briefly, and fell once more on Bloodeye. Waves danced in his view, playful at first, and then they turned lustful. All in a matter of a moment, and finally his eyes bore once more on Echo. This change in her wasn't just physical, Zai could see something had changed within. A tad deeper than an elk herd, but a secret was a secret, an eye for an eye as it were.

Echo knew going in that getting Zaiku to reveal what he knew wasn't an easy task. Perhaps it was another reason why no one ever bothered to find out what he was up to. He was a trickster, a twister of words and vices, but this was nothing knew to her. His voice, as soft as it was now, still echoed in the recesses of her mind back in the cave, that slithering, demonic hiss that frightened her and Damean so. As he spoke his cerulean eyes bored into her frame with just a tilt of the head. She never knew where he boldness came from, but she assumed it must be in her blood, as she turned and regarded Zaiku's gaze with her own lavender one. He had many things swimming in his eyes, like salmon in the sea, but it wasn't his emotions that Echo was interested in. She observed the way he glanced at Bloodeye, the way her scent permeated the air as Echo had passed her earlier... but again, not interested.

"I know we've met before, Zaiku. Though, you never did seem like the kind for formal introductions," she said, her voice low, returning her sights to Damean. It would appear as if they weren't talking at all. She ignored his egotistical comment of magnificence, instead focusing on what she needed to know. "What do I know?" she asked, heather eyes fleeting to his blues again. "If you're implying that I have secrets, you'll be surprised to find that I don't. Everyone here knows about me. They all saw it for themselves." She would not let her fear of her demon keep her from being honest with the pack, and that included Zaiku. Yes, there was much she had to master, but it wasn't something she had to hide. "Anything more about myself... I truly do not know. Everyone knows I was brought in as an orphan. No one knows of my parents or my pack, if there was one. I have no ties to any kind of past life," she said, choosing her words carefully, leaving them straight and plain. It would be no surprise to her if he twisted them to his advantage; if anything, she was waiting for it. To take what he needed of her and run with it, as tricksters do.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Icon_minitimeSat Nov 03, 2012 2:15 am

Such a curious thing, it was like playing with food. The rabbit could only tolerate so much though, a fast heart rate might just end itself. Not something he'd find with his new friend, who had more than enough strength and courage. A smile, a genuine smile escaped his kissers. Like anything that piqued interest, the inquisitive sleuth gave full attention to Echo. Black mass shifted from two legs to none, now resting against the terra. Here his height was lower, and his gaze fell on her once more. Ah, so the memory still swirled in her mind. A fitting way to meet really. Damean had taken in good stride. Auds tuned to Echo's lyrics only, his gaze shifted from her to the others briefly. His silence permeated as she spoke, and he soaked the information in. Something had happened? And that had been a card he had plucked from random! The rest had become a boring droll, her need to defend herself was only a mild stimulate.

The dying breath of her speech brought a sigh out of him, light and audible but holding no meaning. The dark turmoil of his mind flowed with thoughts, and for a moment he let the silence continue. "I killed my parents, and my brethren. Took the throne, and then left it all. My ties are as cut as yours." It was sharp, with a hint of his playful tone. The cheshire grin returned, and he flicked his pools at her once more. "Are we sharing stories now?" There was almost a hint of seriousness, as though he would gladly share any history she wished of him. A rarity, didn't most wolves keep their pasts to themselves? Some enlightenment might come of bestowing upon eachother such stories, but perhaps a less gruesome one would be better for sharing. Honesty was the best key, a thought that forced a stifled chuckle.

And aud flicked back quickly and found no thunder, there was still time. This time, he took leisure in looking each wolf in the group. A studying eye, a calculating look. There were bigger things then letting these wolves be surprised by a migration, but it left the best opportunity to let them believe he was trustworthy. And perhaps he was, perhaps the camaraderie in the pack was rubbing off. It was an amusing thought, there was discord amongst all of them. Agitation had been prevalent prior to his arrival. And to think he needed their trust... But still, they would not die this day. Echo would get her knowledge, as would everyone else. All in due time.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Icon_minitimeSat Nov 03, 2012 1:21 pm

It came as a mild surprise that he didn't take her words and twist them, rather, he listened. Zaiku was a fascinating individual, that was for certain, and he was distinctly different from the rest of the pack. When he spoke of killing his family for the passion of taking the throne, maybe this is what set him apart. Echo found herself observing the others, now. Did they have the ability to kill their own families? Yes, there were hotheads and there were open wounds, but she couldn't see Rawbones destroying his loved ones for a selfish pursuit, nor could she Akiko throwing everything away for something she could obtain without a fight. Perhaps this was the light in them, what kept them from going over the edge. Heliotrope orbs flickered to Bloodeye... Echo didn't know anything about her. She had only just met her at the meeting they were at right now. It wouldn't be fair to judge her based off of her name, either. But, keeping in mind the fleeting glances Zaiku would throw at the female, Echo wondered if Bloodeye was his light, the thing that kept making him come back... but, what always made him slip away?

"It would be if I had a story to tell," she replied. Their conversation fell into a momentary lapse of silence. The words of the surrounding wolves murmured around them like a silver mist, present but not clear. The sound of wings caught her attention and at least two hundred birds were now flying southward in the darkening sky. There were sparrows, ravens, robins, geese, ducks, and cranes. It was very strange, to say the least. Once they passed, the silence was even more profound... almost roaring with deafness. There was a skitter in the grass here and there, a splash in the water, indicating that smaller creatures were running away, too. Echo's lavender eyes turned hard and she looked to Zaiku; yes, it was an accusing look, but not one that suggested he was to blame. She needed her answer from him. "I know you came from that direction," she said, a little louder than their conversation had been prior. "But I know you won't tell me what you saw... So I will ask for your opinion. Is the pack in danger?"

She would throw as many questions as she could at him, even though she knew she would never get a straight answer. That was the funny thing about knowledge, though. Zaiku was a smart wolf, Echo had no doubt about that, but how many were willing to ask for his opinion? What she was doing, one could say it was brave, but in her eyes, it was necessary. There was a shift in the lands and it had nothing to do with her nor her packmates. It had to do something with Zaiku, something he knew, and this, she was certain of.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Icon_minitimeSat Nov 03, 2012 2:16 pm

There was a tale to be told, one not fit for the yearlings who had not experienced such terror. Echo was the first to hear of anything from Zai, and his certainty on sharing wasn't entirely solidified. It had been a brief summary of a longer and more grueling history, but the gist had settled on his companion. A thoughtful silence stretched between them, the murmur of the others a faint sound outside of their bubble. Like any heir, Zaiaku had had challenges. The role of Alpha belonged to a still young king and queen, one a demon and the other an angel. There had been difficulty in slaying his mother, for she had held his ultimate respect. It had been her challenge though, and the woman had forgotten that he was his father's son. That bastard of a hessian deserved the slaughter that came to him, there was no remorse in Zai for raking his claws across the bruja's throat. He had shared a hard rivalry with his brothers, and the challenges had come naturally. It was only his sister that had been spared, Sight and Vengeful Beauty. They had been young, and had posed no threat, on the contrary, Sight had become an ally. Beauty had fled with a hessian, there was no worry there. It was fun pondering the past, but the present returned quickly, and his all seeing eyes caught young Echo's glances to Bloodeye. There was a cold ocean behind his hues, the horizon a deep red of lust. That wench held nothing within him now, but his interested piqued at what her secrets were.

The dark smirk returned when the sound of wings rushed overhead, and his gaze lifted to the sky. A brief displacement for their avian companions, who could fly out of harms way. This wasn't the case for land dwellers, as was apparent by the squirrels and other small creatures passing by. These wolves would do best by moving soon, but Zaiaku said nothing. Azure hues locked on Echo's, his perpetual smirk growing wider. "My dear, do you have no faith in me?" His voice took on an offended tone, but his features showed it as an act. "So few wolves have the gut to truly, and simply, ask a question. I'd might give an answer if others were so honest." Sincerity broke through for a moment, and the smirk vanished. "Indeed it is, the turmoil within could very well tear the pack apart. What with all the silly egos bouncing around, its a wonder it hasn't already." Zaiaku's kisser stretched again, giving a roundabout answer as was expected of him. The dark hessian rose from the earth, his gaze shifting again over all the wolves.

"The sound of thunder, but a clear night sky, it will come as a surprise from the woods." Zaiaku spoke just loud enough to penetrate the voices of the others, but his gaze was on Echo. "If you need me, I will be upon that distant hill." With that, the hessian turned away and began to walk away. "My opinion, Echo, is that this little gathering moves to higher ground." His steps had paused, and his ocean pools returned to Echo. "The view is much better from there anyways." Zai smirked and chuckled lightly, and he headed once more to the hill. In moments, the black spot on the hill sat, and his gaze turned eastward. The birds flew quickly, and the occasional tree swayed with movement. It was only a short matter of time before the migration plowed through the valley, and Zaiaku's blue eyes fell upon the pack. It hadn't been a direct answer, and he was sure Echo expected such things, but it had been a warning, and that would be enough. Whether or not they believed him was irrelevant now, he could enjoy the show of trampling bodies, or this pack that he called home could watch the migration with him.

Riddles. Zaiku spoke in riddles. Echo would never get a straight answer from him, but it wasn't difficult to discern that he had answered her question. She dipped her head and nodded to his word. "Thank you," was all she had to say, as he excused himself from the scene and took a seat upon the top of nearby hill. The smile that played on his dark lips continued to tell that something was going to happen, something big. Echo's ears strained for some kind of sound and she raised her nose in the air, inhaling hard, hoping to find a scent, but it was all clouded by the bio-matter from the swamp. She didn't know what exactly Zaiku knew, but it was now instinct that was taking over. She stood up and walked over to Rawbones and Exodus, not wanting to interrupt the conversation Damean was having with the other wolves.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but.. I think we're in danger," she said, heather eyes meeting theirs, absolutely serious. "Something big is coming. I don't know what. But I think it's time we move out of the area." She spoke the truth, for it was all she knew. The others might not have trusted Zaiku for what he had to say, but they would trust her, or at least, she hoped they would. Damean would. If they didn't listen to her, then there was nothing she could do... She would try and get Damean to believe her, follow her. Yes, there was the possibility that this was all a trick, to stir up unnecessary attention, but Echo figured she had done more than enough to draw attention to herself. Personal demons would see to that. But, there was the proof the birds and small animals... There was no way Zaiku could have coordinated something on that large of a scale.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Icon_minitimeSun Nov 04, 2012 1:19 am

The little she, quiet and taking on an observant role, noticed things proceed rather quickly. She saw Echo slip away from her position at Damean's shoulder, moving over to where Zaiaku had seated himself. She was surprised to see the young femme approach him the way she did, to converse with him so easily. She couldn't hear what they were saying, and was soon distracted by the sudden stirring of the forest around them. She glanced to Blade, her eyes searching his briefly, before she looked back to the woods. A large, mixed flock of birds took to the air, a rather suspicious sign. Soft green eyes searched for more signs, and swept over the quietly talking wolves. Most were still involved in the meeting Damean had gathered, but she had a feeling that something was going to cut it short, before the young King could wrap it up. Small creatures rustled through the undergrowth, some taking to the trees, others escaping down burrows, though their movements remained restless and indecisive. What was going on? "Blade, have you noticed...?" she whispered, gesturing with her snout to the environment. She knew he would notice, and perhaps he was already observing the changes and trying to get an idea of what it was. Ears perked suddenly when a singular voice rose just barely above the others. It was Zai. His voice was directed at Echo, yet it was clear he had intended for his voice to ring just loud enough for the others to hear. Did he know what was happening?

Licking her lips, she looked around at the wolves gathered. They were all well-fed and comfortable, and it wasn't likely that they wanted to get moving right away, but it seemed that it would be necessary. Whatever it was that disturbed the territory would soon pose a danger to them all. She nudged Blade softly. "Should we.." she started, unsure of what to suggest. She wasn't a leader of any sorts. She glanced to the movement of the large male as he parted with Echo, and the young fae went over to Rawbones and Exodus. "Maybe we really should ensure the pack moves," she said quietly, "I don't have enough supplies to cover many injuries all at once.." She hoped that someone else was going to make a move, she didn't want to worry and cause a commotion if it really was nothing.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Rawbones

Rawbones had been waiting for the meeting to continue, his dulled eyes focused as best as they could upon Damean. He had noticed the shifting of colours as Echo silently moved away from her place by her friend's side. Peculiar, but he wasn't going to monitor her. He glanced to Exodus momentarily, his eyes more capable of focusing up close. He could quiet easily see her features, and he still searched her for signs of seasonal change, but there was nothing obvious. Sighing, he merely looked away again, not wanting to let his eyes linger on her for too long. There were still many things to discuss. Though the older male heard nothing in particular, he was suddenly gripped by a feeling of restlessness outside of himself. Silver eyes shifted. Birds ascended from their roosts, fluttering away in an almost desperate manner. Rawbones watched them for some time, seeing their dark forms contrast against the light of the sky, taking note of the many different species flocking together. That was abnormal. Blinking, he looked to the ground, setting his ears forward. The tiniest of rustlings could be heard as land-dwelling prey creatures shuffled about. He blinked again, lifting his head. The earth was uneasy, but he could not determine where it stemmed from.

A dark voice suddenly cut the white noise of the drumming forest. Rawbones tilted his ears and swiveled his neck around to see Zaiaku rising to his paws, speaking words to Echo, yet loud enough for the rest to hear. His brow furrowed. What was that brute going on about? Eyes flashed as Echo appeared suddenly in front of he and Exodus from what seemed out of nowhere. He gave his head a shake, clearing his mind so he could concentrate on the present. He let his gaze meet hers, and before she spoke, he could feel the serious nature of her approach. As she looked to them both, the conviction with which she spoke was reflected in her eyes. "Danger?" he murmured, tilting his head and looking around before fixing his eyes upon her once more, "What is it Echo? How do you know?" He blinked another time, putting things together in his mind. Again, he looked to Zaiaku, seeing the hessian stride up the hill from which he had come. Just as Rawbones had thought, the brute knew something, and now Echo knew as well. He looked back to her, his eyes clearer now. "Echo, what did he tell you?" he asked, eyes flicking to the one he spoke of and back again, "If we need to move the pack, then we'd best do it now." He rose to all fours, preparing himself to get the others moving. He could see in her eyes that she was not trying to cause trouble, she was not put up to this. Something was amiss, and even the woods gave their warning. He wanted to find out what it was quickly, because he did not want to see distress amongst these wolves right now. They needed more time to regroup, and Damean especially needed to learn more before such weighty decisions were placed upon him.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Bloodeye-1

The femme had been acutely aware of the shift in energy when Echo approached Zaiaku and seated herself near him, and they spoke in hushed tones between themselves. Her tail flicked back and forth, no longer wrapped around her base tightly as it had been. She yawned, trying to appear inconspicuous and bored, but she was hanging on the sounds of their voices every second, waiting to catch a recognizable word. Nothing audible reached her ears, and she sat stiffly, staring at the ground with eyes wide. Her jaw was clenched, and she only came out of her fixation when she at last heard his voice rise above the murmurs of the others. Head turned and she watched him stride away and up the hill, his mysterious words of warning lingering within her mind. She didn't know what he meant, and why he had allowed his voice to travel just for that one statement. Looking around, she wondered if anyone else had heard. It seemed some of the others were stirring, and Echo was suddenly in front of her guardian, with a seriousness in her eyes that made Bloodeye tilt her head. She was missing something. Rawbones was on his paws now. Crimson orbs searched her surroundings, and only then did it become apparent that there were birds flocking as though to escape something, and rustlings in the brush that suggested panicked creatures. She'd been much too lost in the dwellings of her mind. She growled to herself, frustrated with herself.

Bloodeye got to her paws, pondering her course of action. Something was going on that was causing the others to get antsy. But what was her role, anyways? She had come and gone from this place many times, though she intended to show her loyalty and stay put, she still felt like an outsider. Still, she didn't want to hesitate a moment longer. She strode up to Damean, a wicked feeling still welling within her just at the sight of him, but she had to make her mark here and show her business side. They were still pack, and they needed to cooperate in times like this, much as they may rather do otherwise. Eyes flicked to his, wanting to catch his gaze. "Damean, I'm sure you can feel the stirrings of the forest," she began, her expression serious, yet a tinge of displeasure marred her features, "The rest of your meeting may need to wait. You need to move your pack to safety. Echo knows it." She tilted her head in the direction of where the femme was gathered with Exodus and the elder male. She turned her body, then gave him a nod and departed. She looked to Akiko, certain the femme would quickly catch onto what was happening. She dipped her head to the fae and moved on. Next, her sights were set upon the newer male - Fang - the one who had seated himself quietly with a chunk of meat. He hadn't said a word, but after all, he was just new. But, it was possible that he did not catch the subtleties amongst the pack, though she knew she mustn't doubt his perception. She approached him, looking directly at him.

"The pack will be moving shortly," she stated, her eyes expressionless as she watched him, "It may be in your best interest to follow the general flow of movement." She nodded, as though to confirm her statement. She would say nothing more to get him moving. That would be up to him. Sighing, she looked around. She was sure these lot could get themselves moving, and sense the danger. They were sensible enough. Her gaze then traveled up the hill where Zaiaku had gone. A mere speck of his admirable form was visible high up the side. She wanted to go up and seat herself safely, yet at the same time she was tempted to stay down below and see what the thunder would bring. But would she survive it? She didn't have a clue what was coming. Huffing, she turned and gave the pack one more glance before she ambled slowly toward the hill, beginning her climb upward to supposedly safer grounds.

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Icon_minitimeSun Nov 04, 2012 11:14 am

He'd noticed Zai come back, but didn't care. What he did notice was the wildlife- it was too loud and quiet all at the same time. There was no hissing, chirping, or any other noises, just the sound of tiny feet, wings, and scrambles to get away from the direction Zai had come from. He wasn't the problem, though. Blade blotted out the talking among them, and would have gotten up to get a better idea of the troubles if it weren't for the fact this was a pack meeting.

From the corner of his mind, he recognized Petra speaking directly to him, just as he caught the faintest of noise. He couldn't yet make it out, but he expected the others to be able to hear it within the next few seconds as it got closer. They either weren't focusing on listening yet, or they were still too young to have fully trained their capacity. He'd noticed Echo quiet now, as if trying to listen but not hearing anything, if he read her body language right. His attention was divided, listening to everything at once, but easily managed now that he knew what he was looking for.

Opening his maw, he replied, "Yes, get them moving. Whatever it is, it's coming from the ground. Not the air or under it. I can't hear it clearly yet, but if it's that loud from that distance, it's either huge, or there's many. The smaller creatures are bent on flight and it's best to follow suit. Help Rawbones gather them, and I'll bring up the rear." He wasn't sure how Damean would respond, but Rawbones would probably drag Echo away, while he and Akiko, were she to also bring the rear, would make sure Damean and the rest move.

Some of the pack had already started to move away, and he looked to Damean. There was time to move so there was no need to try to force anything... yet. Would he be stubborn and suspicious of Zai, or listen to Echo and the current movings of the pack?

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Icon_minitimeSun Nov 04, 2012 1:16 pm

Fang was nearly finished with the hide he had taken from the kill, the remainder of cleaned bones having any likeness of taste. His still shining ivories ached; that was more from lack of consumption over the past days than anything else. However, his pale orbs had remained shifty since he had placed himself within the circle of the pack like a fly on the wall. What he had noticed more than anything else was not concerning the leader of Jabbar, but rather the dark hessian that, upon his quiet approach, had sparked a silent interest from various members. A familiar face he assumed, but was he welcome? Little time was wasted, as the one cursed Echo quickly advanced on him. This arrival seemed to be the sudden stimulus of something else around them.

First in his chest that lay against the soft terra, Fang felt waves of vibrations almost tickle his form, but the discovery was rather unsettling. The minute details told that the natural state was disturbed, beginning to fall apart around them. The chatter of the small creatures ceased to silence, while the unexpected percussion of their now frenetic movement took its place; others thumped about, attempting to escape their tree holes, giving a distant warning like the sound of rushing rapids before a waterfall. The many different avian species, from raptor to lowly sparrow, took to the skies. Birds that would normally never be near each other, unless with the intent to kill, were now in close proximity as tattered wings sounded. It was a free-for-all, and at this rate, he wouldn’t be surprised if they converged and choked off the lightness of the skies within the coming hours. The strange behaviors made his maw take an angered expression; something seemed terribly wrong. He looked back to Echo and the bru, their conversation still mere noise among the pack’s commotion. Moments passed, until finally his auds twitched as the tone of their lyrics became audible, bits and pieces of phrases sounding over other discussions. Peril was close, and the others sensed it. His dial turned to watch Echo swiftly pass a message off to an elder male. It seemed they were going to move to higher ground and escape this coming danger, yet this was still a pack meeting and many still sat. Fang chucked the remnants of the kill and jumped up to all fours. He did not like where this was going.

Even the crimson-eyed femme, the one he had seen high on rage against the Jabbar leader, now to a serious stand to make evident the oncoming hazard from within the forest. She was set upon this duty of evacuating them, beginning to direct the various wolves and eventually meeting him. Her words held little emotion other than warning; he didn’t need any extra motivation to get out of the path of this exodus. He nodded back to her as she moved forth, sighting the mounting number that chose to leave now and trotting upward on their heels. He felt in no rush…yet, as he turned back to verify if Damean and the rest of the pack would tag on now.

The dark hessian sat in a contemplative air, his gaze lifting from the wolves below to the oncoming herd. Had there been a reason to not tell them? What would've come from staying silent, would these wolves move quick enough as soon as the migration tore through the forest? Natural instinct would lead them directly away from the elk, and only half way out would they realize the best chance would be to dash to the side. It would've certainly been a show, and one he would've had the best seat for. Yet, his lyrics had flowed for that little fae. So quick and bold, if his care went past himself he'd find it admirable. There was more value and entertainment to be had with these wolves, and even more so than the small amount of amusement that would've come from their scramble. Despite this, his jowls contained a smirk. There was room to play knowing he had bought himself a small amount of trust, even if it was just with Echo. Young'ens were easier to work with, to manipulate, than the adults. There was a little gift that he could, and would, use later.

Ocean hues followed the movements, which were slow but beginning to pick up speed. They had time, but it was becoming narrow. What fun it would be, if even with his warning the pack still got caught up in the migration. There was only so much hope a wolf could have. His thoughts were broken by the approach of another, and his gaze soaked in her beauty. Such a terrible curse. His grin vanished, and the air about him turned more introspective. The drive and thirst for the flesh and heat of another stirred any bruja, even the jaded cynical wolves. Bloodeye was a curse, a spot of lust that nagged him much like a fly would. He could find himself some other whore to satiate his drive, but the tick wouldn't cease. This fae vexed him, and deeply. "And I thought I'd enjoy the show alone. It will be much better with a pretty face next to me." There was a charm to his voice, and a venomous undertone. A smirk stretched his kissers, and his azure hues danced with a playful challenge. What secrets could he pry or undercover?

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Bloodeye-2

The climb seemed a long one as Bloodeye looked over shoulder every now and then to check on the pack's movement. It seemed some of them were aware of oncoming danger, but they were slow to get moving. Regardless, she knew there were others that would get all of them moving, and she certainly wasn't going to go back down there and start dragging wolves by their scruffs. At last, she had reached the top, and she was instantly aware of the bruja's stare. She looked up, crimson orbs meeting his azures. The vix couldn't help but to break out in a grin. It had been so long since either had graced the other with their presence. Was he still drawn to her by lust? She strode toward him slowly, hearing his voice break above the low thrumming of the forest. She felt a tickle at the back of her neck; his voice always brought such a sensation, yet there was a more dangerous tone twined in with the charm. Her gaze met his again to see the playful challenge in his eyes. She let her expression fall neutral, and her eyes maintained a secretivness. She stopped in front of Zaiaku. "I didn't come to see the show," she said, tipping her head slightly, "Now that Damean's little meeting has broken up, I think I'm just going to dismiss myself."

Ivory ears tilted back as she looked down momentarily. Then she stepped closer; her skin burned, wanting nothing more than to reach forward to touch him, just for a moment but she refrained from doing so. Nothing gave her that right. Instead, she merely turned her gaze up at him again. The slightest of smirks crossed her maw. "I have a dirty secret to share," she said, then turned from him, "I'll be at Onyx Lake. When you're done here, meet me by the shore, if you're curious..." She knew that he was, but would he make the trek just to find out what her secret was? She could feel the distance, the poison between them, and she knew that he sensed something. But she would tell him before he discovered by fluke what she'd done. Would it make a difference? No. The deed had already been done, but at the least she could be open with him. Besides, had there ever been anything real between them in the first place? Perhaps some playful banter, and certainly lust, but anything more... Bloodeye shook her pelt, then walked by the great, dark beast, her tail swaying at her hocks. She wasn't going to wait around here for the pack to gather, she had other things on her mind.

Her legs carried her quickly, faster than she had imagined. She just wanted to have this time to herself, a few moments alone to breath in the deep forest scents. The smell of leaf mold and pine needles played on the air, a reminder of the season and the cold that was to come. For her, the next season would bring more than snow and bitter cold. She slowed her pace, giving a sigh. Then ears perked slightly. Even with the distance she'd made, she could hear the thunder growing as danger entered the pack lands and drew nearer to its occupants. It probably wouldn't be long until the threat overwhelmed. Though she'd been curious to see what would happen, she felt more inclined to just get out alone, though not to leave the territory again. No, not ever again. There had been too much tension at that gathering, and she needed to cool down now. As well, she hoped that Zaiaku would meet her at the lake, but she might find herself waiting a while. And maybe not; she'd find out in due time. Picking up speed again, the fae made her way at last to the lake's dark waters. It was always such a clear, black surface, mirroring the environment with an eerie, inverted reflection.

The pack spoke and discussed amongst themselves. Several people entered and reconfigured themselves. Her eyes lingered on the young wolf who had come in at the beginning her sisters spawn here in Jabbar. Did Damean even know? Had anyone ever told him? Eyes switched over to the young king and her lips pursed. No, she was not sure if he knew about his father and Akira. It was something she tried to forget about and she didn't bring it up and nobody asked. Echo stepped forward after talking to Zaiku announcing that something was wrong and the pack needed to move. Her eyes looked to the hessian who was leaving thought about going after him but decided against it. Now that she wasn't so focused on the meeting she felt it in the forest, it hummed in the air her nostrils searching for a scent to give her a clue. Rising to her feet it was Bloodeye in a bit of surprise who moved first to motivate everyone to move. Everyone was tuning into the offness right about now and she stood and issued three sharp barks. "Get moving! To higher ground!" Most things turned out easier if you could see it coming. Moving next to Damean she nosed him in the flank and glanced at her nephew but did not speak or say anything. "Petra!" She said in a voice that rang with command. "To the East, skirt the border and report back to Shadow Mountains. Be fast, hidden and safe." Azule eyes flicked from the members, Blade was already bringing up the rear the others rousing themselves.

What was happening?

Petra nodded to Blade, preparing herself to go and get the others gathered. However, she suddenly heard her name, and whipped around to face Akiko. Her eyes widened as she was ordered to head east, to scout out what was happening. She nodded sharply to Akiko and set off, knowing she would need to keep light on her paws. She decided she wouldn't head straight toward the border - she didn't want to come into direct contact with whatever was coming, but she needed to find out and get back as quickly as her legs would take her. She took a northeastern route, weaving swiftly past trees and dodging thick undergrowth. The thundering noise was growing louder, and she knew she was getting closer to it; she wondered if she would even make it to the border at all before she came in contact with the threat. As she moved, Petra began to notice that the earth didn't seem as steady under her paws. She came to a halt to observe for a moment, and instantly noticed how the ground rumbled. How would she find out what was going on without putting herself in danger? Tail low now, Petra moved forward more cautiously until she came to a slight rise. She noticed an low overhanging ledge, and noted that it would make good cover if she needed it.

As she padded up the small hill, her eyes widened as she saw what was coming. Suddenly the roar of fast and heavy movement was reverberating through her chest as hundreds of elk hurtled towards her. Frozen in place, she didn't know what to do, or if she would even make it out of here at all. "The ledge!" she reminded herself, hardly able to hear her own voice. Ears pinned back and she turned to make an escape, yet she'd hesitated too long and within seconds was overwhelmed by the herd. A sharp hoof struck her shoulder, and a sharp yelp escaped her. The skin was split open while the momentum sent her tumbling down the hill. As soon as she reoriented herself she began clambering toward the overhang; some of the beasts dodged her, others missing her by no more than a hair. She kept her head low, not wanting to be dealt a blow to the skull. Another hoof clipped her, this time on her hip, knocking her off balance. With perseverance she was soon within a tail-length of her hiding place. She tried to brace herself as she felt another blow, this time to her ribs, but it sent her straight onto her side, knocking the wind out of her. With all of the strength in her, she forced herself onto her paws quickly and dove for the safety of the overhang. At last she had made it, and with a gasping breath, she allowed herself to collapse, giving herself some time to recover. The thunder echoed heavily and the ground shook, but she knew she was safe if she just stayed put. She had no choice but to wait it out, and hope that the pack had truly made it out of harm's way. She felt wetness throughout her pelt as blood dribbled from the gaping wounds left by sharp, hard hooves. Pain radiated from her sides... she hoped nothing was broken. Feeling helpless, she curled herself into the deepest nook under the small ledge, hoping this would be over soon.

Silvery, heliotrope eyes never left Rawbones' gaze. She clenched her teeth. She didn't want to say that it was intuition, even though it was intuition that had told her Zai was up to something. "Zaiku told me the pack was in danger," she replied, deciding not to elaborate on how she had come across such information. But even without having to say this, the rest of the pack stirred, now noticing the fleeting animals. Echo's eyes found themselves wandering from her guardian's face down to her paws. The blades of swamp grass were dancing, even though there was no wind... The earth beneath her pads hummed, like a songbird's chorus, but deep and resonating, like a thousand howls... Her throat tightened as she remembered the day that she and Damean had been in the cave together, where the earth had been roaring and shaking... This couldn't be the same thing, could it? She raised her head and searched for Damean, but Akiko was taking charge now, ordering them to move to higher ground.

The rumbling grew louder and louder, descending upon them like the wind. Following Akiko's orders, Echo bolted from the spot, sprinting into the woods. She didn't know these parts of the lands very well, but if she headed east, she knew she should be able to find Damean's Kingdom; the only patch of green in these grey, monotone lands. She weaved her way through the underbrush, not knowing if the others were following, seeing Bloodeye go one way and Petra go the other. Hopefully, she wouldn't run into any other kind of danger on her way back. She was fast, probably faster than most, seeing as the more she ran the more the sound of thunder melted into the background.

She came to a halt when the green grass was beneath her feet, her ears pulled back, panting hard. Her muscles burned and her chest was on fire. She approached the stream cutting through the area, the ice water cooling heat. It was then that she noticed she was either the first one back, or the only one that made it back. "Damean? Akiko? Exodus?" she called out, hoping one of them would emerge from the dens, but it was clear that she was alone. She knew Zaiku had left for his own abode. Echo drank some more until the rest of her felt cool, and then headed for an unoccupied den. It was a large, old black tree, who looked as if it were standing. The dirt beneath it had been dug out. Even if the source of the rumbling earth and thunder came near, Echo had faith that she would be hidden and protected. Her young body was tired from all of the exercise and full from the meat before; she hadn't had a chance to rest. Sleep was beckoning her name, and she fell into its embrace.

He watched Akiko call for Petra to see what was happening. Ears starting to fold down from the irritation the growing thundering noise was making, he watched the pack start to move in different direction. By now everyone had to have heard it. He didn't care where Zai or Bloodeye went. He was mildly concerned for Petra, but knew she was fast and would probably be fine. Echo darted away from the rest of them... not towards the mountains. She probably didn't yet get a tour of the lands and didn't know where to go.

He gave a questioning glance at Akiko and Rawbones before his gaze turned to Damean, wondering if he'd notice and try to find her. Damean had to stay with the adults, but one of them could go after Echo. The king-to-be would have to trust them on that. He'd expect Rawbones to volunteer, but either he or Akiko would be best suited to search, not that he had any doubts on Rawbone's ability. He was feeling a bit uncomfortable, both because of the headache he was having from the thundering noise trying to prove louder than his thoughts, and the slight concern that was becoming worry for his mate.

His instinct and intuition had proved correct, and his gaze bore down on the white woman as she spoke. The air about them was deafening, toxic and decaying. If he had taken her for himself, if his beliefs were of a soul mate or one fae for the remainder of his years, Bloodeye was a match. Whatever it is they had was dying, and yet it had been death from the start. She had enticed a newly arrived Zaiaku, and he in turn flirted on the borders of lust. It couldn't have been more, except for the time that it had been questioned. Perhaps it was an example of what it is they possessed in each other, but there had been a moment when there was consideration for more than just lust. Their disappearances co existed, causing a strain and yet a subtle pull. It had been that encounter, the venomous one where the air about them had sat thickly with contemplation. Now, there was nothing. And her little secret was surely the result of the end of what could've been a formidable team, couple was a long shot of a term. His ocean gaze followed Bloodeye, as she turned and headed away to Onyx Lake. Pools then averted back down to the pack, scurrying around like mice. She knew as well as he did that there was no true entertainment left to be found, the pack had been warned of the danger and would pry themselves away from it. Such a pity, he should've let them flee in sudden fear.

Zaiaku sat in silence for only a few more moments, before his dark form lifted and trailed Bloodeye's scent. Whatever it was that she knew, it would be far more intriguing then watching the pack prepare for imminent danger. His pace was slow, a leisure walk as if it were the most glorious of nights. The joker was growing bored of the lands, and of the egotistical wolves that inhabited them. They deserved his disturbing presence, to remind them that they were no more important that an ant and its colony. Trust and loyalty were a two way path, and yet the expectation was for him. He needed only Damean's trust, and so far Zai had done nothing to disrupt that bond. The young king had taken his actions, that of the caves situation, in stride. He was the only wolf whose words mattered, the rest of the pack was but a group of lemmings. Let them fall off a cliff. The smirk danced, the ever present joker grin that stretched his kisser like a permanent scar. Things could change, and in some amounts they had. His lyrics had poured for Echo, not holding anything valid but enough to give the tyke warnings. She was another that held whatever little amount of respect Zai could give. Even then, his boredom had increased. Next time, the wolves would need to use their own brains for such situations.

Her white form penetrated the night, as much as his matched it. Zaiaku slipped through the foliage, the rumble of the ground masking his steps. Whatever her lyrics were, they didn't matter. It was time to leave again, and this time his return wouldn't be for a while. There was trouble to make elsewhere, and he needed a refreshment on what darkness truly meant. Still, indulging in her presence could only hurt a little. "Don't ponder to much, less you hurt yourself my dear." The jest was sarcastic, and he brought himself along her side. Close, as to brush their colours together. It was the most contact that either of them had felt for each other for a while, and he had done so deliberately. "Do you see your true self among these dark reflections? I've always seen nothing but the ripples, and the sad realization that I am my father's son." Zaiaku stifled a chuckle, and turned his gaze to Bloodeye. "Do share, Bloodeye." His tone remained even, and his eyes danced with playful challenge. It was now the second time the dark hessian had mentioned his past, and little Echo had received the information first. He wondered if the white woman had over heard his shared words with Echo.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Bloodeye-2

The fae had hardly seated herself and stared at the water for a few moments when infiltrated her solitude. She looked up from the dark surface and turned to see the large silhouette of he coming towards her. She felt almost startled by how quickly he had arrived; she thought she would have had some time to go into thought and think about what had to be said. Instead, he was in her presence before she felt ready. Nevertheless, she stood and watched him move towards her. His lyrics filled the air, sarcastic as always. He moved himself beside her, overlooking the lake, his pelt brushing hers. She shivered with delight, and wanted to simply melt into his strong, massive form as she would have in long ago days. She blinked slowly and perked her ears as she heard him speak again. He asked a question she had never given thought to. She stepped forward, looking into the reflection the lake offered - it gave her no insight. "Who am I, truly?" she asked, looking back at him, smirking but with a cold and distant look in her eyes, "If only I resembled someone I recognized." She moved back to his side, a place that seemed so natural, yet the tension remained as she refrained from leaning in closer. Now she felt his gaze turn on her directly, and she met it as he requested she share her secret at last. So, it was time for him to know. She wondered if he would draw away from her, or if he would stay, or if he would question her. Or maybe it just wouldn't matter at all.

"Very well, Zaiaku," she said in a low tone, looking to the waters again. She would just need to say it, there was no way to make it easier. "I am carrying whelps," she said bluntly, glancing at him from the corner of her eyes. She could only guess at how he would take the news - she had a feeling he would be silent and unrevealing. He never was an easy wolf to read. She didn't care that the whelps' father was nowhere to be found - he had been there only for her pleasure, a mere choice of impulse, though one she wished she hadn't gone through with. Now she looked to Zaiaku again, more seriousness in her eyes. "Can I ask something of you?" she questioned, tilting her head, "Will you... dispose of them for me when they arrive?" Claws dug into the ground. It was a difficult thing to ask, something she wasn't sure he would want any part of, and something she wasn't sure if she'd be able to go through with when it came time. But she knew he had done away with whelps before; surely he could do it again, for her. She looked down again. "They will want me with every fibre of their being.." she said quietly, closing her eyes, "But I do not want them. What a sad existence it would be for a whelp that is neither loved nor wanted." For once, she felt pain tug at her heart. She had wanted the whelps she'd had before - she had loved them, and they had rejected her as yearlings. But these ones, she didn't want them. These whelps were not bred for strength, power or even love. They were merely the outcome of impulse.

She looked at him again. What did he think? What would he say? Perhaps he would walk away from her without a word. Or maybe he would stay and hear her, maybe there was still some reason to remain. But she knew she could only wait anxiously to see what his response would be..

Answers. Never ask a question you don't want the answer to... He would remember this, and as the voices had come forth and answered his question, the more he was gaining on where wolves stood, not just by his side, but in the pack as a whole. Who sat divided amongst even themselves, and who bonded in the most boring of moments. Interesting. The coming, the going, and the settled wolves. His mind was racing, calculating all these things that were happening, the dark hessian, his little friend, manipulating his mind, entranced Echo and she left his side to go talk. Mumble more like it, because after they spoke chaos began and Damean, though he knew what was needed to be done, had locked his gaze on the white wolf sitting next to Akiko. The eyes. Those were what caught his attention. It wasn't the matching pelt to his so believed mother he saw, but the eyes, the same ones that looked back at himself when he saw his own black pelted face in the water.

Bloodeye came up then, as he would have wanted to make an approach he wasn't able to. Instant gratification of anger seethed into his veins when her voice registered in his auds and his blue orbs danced and looked up at her. She stood merely above him less then when he had first arrived. He hated her, and wanted to rip her throat out. Her words didn't phase him and as she sulked off he suddenly felt some great... what. Pity? No! He couldn't feel pity for her. Heart raced as he wanted to vomit having her even spoke to him. Why did he hate her so much. Blue orbs danced as a white blur vanished from view. "Echo!" He called and jumped down the little perch he was on. His eyes scanned everyone. "To the mountains. Now!" he called out, knowing full well everyone would be going, they had to. Petra took off on Akiko's command. He growled to himself. His pack right? Why was he so angry?

Daija's voice broke out of the chaos. "Damean come on!" she breathed pushing into him, and he felt Exodus nose his shoulder, he turned at snapped at her, watching as she pulled back. It was then the white male came up and ushered Daija along, scooting him too. "But Echo, get off me! Get OFF!" he growled, snapping at the air, his veins felt like they were on fire, he felt like his head was going to explode. "What is going on!" he barked, turning his full attention on someone else, but Daija was pushing him again talking about a wake of some danger. Pestering... He was being pushed, nudged, he had to be in safety, safety of what! He growled again but didn't resist, his blue orbs were a molten of fire and he made his way with Daija and the white male. When they reached the side of the mountain he pushed away. Zai was supposed to be here? Where was he? Bloodeye. So concerned about themselves when the pack was in danger. Pathetic. The pack. His pack. The pack as a whole and not just his... was in danger. His senses were on fire and he felt a heat wave rush through him. He wanted to be sick, he wanted to throw up right there but Daija was standing in front of him. It sounded like she was under water. He didn't hear her, though he watched her speak to him. He heard Echo, fine, she'll be okay, stay here, everything will be okay. His head slumped and he sat down, he felt her press into him and he pulled away, she only pressed harder...

Exodus looked at Damean. Watching him sit there and take what was being said. He was such a good pup for the most part, but now he was becoming a male, and becoming an alpha, he needed to change things for himself and the pack. Her heart ached just thinking about it. Echo was something else. His best friend and now what, were they in love, rarely did she get to see her daughter act, and watching her watch Damean, and he himself watch her. It was a beauty. Love, yes, it had to be. Golden orbs danced when Rawbones sat next to her, he made her skin tingle with nervous excited feelings. Soon though, as peaceful as things come, they must go, and the pack was being moved. She had felt the tension roll through the trees like a pebble downhill, easily cutting it's way into a happy home. Her first instinct was Echo, and before she knew it. Damean was throwing a fit about where she went. Auds pulled back and she gave a whimper looking to Rawbones. "Where did she go!" she had moved off so fast Exodus hadn't had time to see, not with everyone moving in the way.

What kind of parent was she. She looked around the main area, her nose lifting to the sky sniffing the air. Fear. That's all she could smell. So where was Echo! She began to pace, now her nose stuck to the ground sniffing random spots, the newest cleanest trail. "I have to find her" she said to herself, and began a slight following scent to the brush, when she felt it was right she lifted her head and looked at the others. "Make sure Damean is okay" and as she said that, Daija was pushing him off with... his brother, her brother... Akira's son... holy she did not want to come back to that mess. With a soft glance to Akiko, an apology for knowing what was going to become of this outcome likely, she nodded to her. Then her eyes landed on Rawbones. A silent pass to him, a silent I love you, a silent forgive me please, and then she was gone, into the trees like thunder, going to chase down the one white little not so fuzzy anymore wolf that had saved her life...

PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Icon_minitimeMon Nov 12, 2012 2:46 pm

Azure hues lifted from her presence, seeking out the stretch of cold dark water before them. He let a silence hang, which was only penetrated by bird calls or the low rumble of the migration. Had the pack met the great elk herd yet? Did it matter? His loyalty wavered in the eyes of his fellow mates, and it was to be tested again in due time. It was hard to note that despite his..unsettling behaviour, Zai had done much for the lands. Perhaps, it seemed, not all for those who would be considered his pack mates. He had stayed when the land was taken over, he had followed the blood thirsty words of the now nameless hessian, the name eluded him and he had little care to recall the dead. His ivories had become slick with the blood of the pure and innocent, a whelp killer. But now, he had dutifully warned the pack of imminent danger, and he was sure to be met with criticism upon his return. This wouldn't be for some time, giving enough room for the pot to boil. Her secret left no feeling in his chest, and his features remained the eerie calm that they always possessed. It was Bloodeye's following request, the lyrics that spoke of favour.

Succession. The young had been slaughter because it was a natural selection, not only did the strong survive, but those who's lineage was pure. No wolf could damn him for his deeds, if they so chose to find them out. He had been alpha, he controlled the pack. There had been no questions and none but a few challenged him. Those wench's who's bellies carried infants belonging to other hessians were a threat, a direct problem that had but one cure. Life was a beautiful lie, but death was the painful truth. The situation before him was no different, the plague inside her was a threat to him. Perhaps only indirectly. There had been a silent claim, and neither of them had been vocal about it but for one time. She ignored those exchanged lyrics, but Zai could not inflict blame upon her. A fae had as much needs as any bruja, the cycles were a trying time for both genders seeking release. A smirk briefly crossed his kissers, as if the whole situation she belonged to was amusing. And it was in some ways. "Do you fear infanticide yourself? Must my jaws be the taker of life when it is you who does not want them?" There was spit of acid in his lyrics, but they remained as even as ever.

Logic of succession said that it was his jaws that should tear open the flesh of the young, but Zaiaku would not leave Bloodeye without some form of fault. "Upon my return they will die, and you will bear my lineage next season." The conviction was thick, a spot of threat mingled in. He would take her next season, and she would bear a litter of strong killers. Ocean pools turned to Bloodeye, they danced, as along with his features, of fire. "No more games, my love. Do not seek me out if another litter belongs to some ghastly hessian." The storm calmed only a fraction, but the word love held little in the ways of sincerity. Yet, perhaps just enough to leave them both wondering. It was a reflection best dwelt on alone, and time was on his side for a while. If only he knew what the pull was, where was it that he was to seek out? It had the potential to be nothing, but the inquiring mind would still travel to seek out the knowledge.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Bloodeye-2

Watching the brute, she saw the smirk that crossed his lips, and heard the words that left him. Fear and guilt clawed at her instantly. She had asked to bring this responsibility upon him, when it had nothing to do with him. It should be she herself to rid them from the world, just as she would bring them in. Yet, she could not bear the thought of ripping the lives out of the innocent whelplings that would be born from her body. If it were any other whelp, it wouldn't mean a thing to her, but those of her own flesh and blood? It brought her so much distress, even though she knew their suffering would be worse if she allowed them to live. After all, what sort of life would they lead when even their own mother did not want them? Her claws dug deeper, as though trying to strangle the life out of something. She knew that Zai could do this, but that surely did not mean he wanted to. "I know this is only my doing," she said, lowering her muzzle, "If only I could do it myself... But you don't understand." She said, shaking her head. "I have been a mother before... that is the only love that exists in this world, and it is the strongest, but there is no logic or reason in it. All I know is that I cannot do it, but it must be done." She didn't know what else to say, but his voice came again, and this time his lyrics left her with a conclusion that was to the point. He would do away with the whelps, and shewouldbear his litter in the next season. She felt at a loss for words again, and let out a deep breath.

Still, her eyes met his. "You are truly... merciful," she said meant that in more ways than one, but she hoped he wouldn't take it offensively. In no way did she mean he was soft. If anything, he was the strongest brute she had ever met, and more twisted and sadistic than any she'd ever known. Yet still, he was the one that she felt like she could trust more than anyone she'd met in her lifetime. Of all the wolves that had offered their loyalty to her, he was the one who kept coming back. He had not disappeared forever, he had not tried to rip out her throat, or overthrow her; he had never strayed from her. So why had she strayed from him? She had soiled something that could have been great. Sighing deeply, she looked at him again, noting the blue fire dancing in his orbs. No more games. She nodded in understanding, her crimson orbs never leaving his; she was being given another chance, even if it would never be the same as it could have been. She heard the sweet pet name, love, knowing it meant nothing spilling from his lips. But what was love, anyways? She knew it did not exist amongst grown wolves; it was merely a feeling between mother and whelp. Was it something that they could truly feel for another? Bloodeye didn't think so, it was just something that they craved when they grew apart from their mothers, that warm and comfortable feeling when nothing else mattered. So fearsome was life that they all tried to draw on that comfort from others who could merely replicate that feeling. The drakes, they would seek out that same feeling from another woman, trying to recreate what they had with their mothers; the vixens, they wanted a hessian because he could give her whelps, upon which she could dote just as her mother had done with her.

As crazy as it seemed to her, Bloodeye was glad to have his mercy, his second chance, and just to hear his voice was enough. She knew that there would be nothing beyond this, if she were to ever stray from him again. But she knew now more than ever that she could never dream of anything else. She had to trust him - he was like no other. He had never hurt her. Might he? Yes, for she had been disloyal, but that would be something she deserved. Tentatively, she pressed her shoulder into his. "I would bear your lineage season after season if that is what you will," she stated, "These lands.. this is where you will always find me, from now on. I know my place, now." She was pathetically weak beside him, knowing he could crush her and throw her away, or even tear her body asunder. She took that risk. But what would be his next course of action? With her belly swelling over the next moons, she knew it would be difficult to be in each other's presence. Although, he had spoken already about his return... which indicated his leaving. In a way, she felt that was suitable. She would have enjoyed his presence to remain, but why would he have wanted to stay while her body nurtured the pups of another? His leaving would give him time to think and explore and be free, while she stayed, brooding over what she had done. Silent now, she merely looked out upon the waters once more, waiting with ears raised to hear if more was to be said.

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Rawbones

The elder watched Echo clenched her jaws, wanting to say one thing, but saying another. Either way, it was enough information to know that they should get moving. He nodded to her and lightly nudged her neck as her eyes dropped to the ground. Then Akiko's authoritative voice rang out, telling them to get to higher ground. Echo seemed to have her own ideas of what Akiko had meant, and took off on her own. His eyes widened as he watched her quick, fleeting form disappear into the trees. She was going the wrong way, headed toward the dens. He wanted so much to go after her, but she had the endless energy of youth on her side, while Rawbones didn't have it in his old bones to chase after her again. Teeth clenched, he looked over to
Damean. The boy was the next one he had to ensure got to safety, but it seemed everyone else was already on top of it, even Exodus tried to nudge him along. He snapped and snarled in a tantrum, wanting to go after Echo - he knew the boy must be furious, but he was still too young to do anything about it. But right now there was no time to sit and worry about feelings, they had to get moving, all of them, and they could only hope that those who were out of sight were safe and well. Then he turned to Exodus as she came to him, a whimper of concern in her voice as she asked where Echo had gone. "She's heading toward the dens, I believe.." he said, shaking his head, "Why didn't she wait for the pack? She shouldn't have gone on her own.. but we can't do anything now."

Wrong. He couldn't do anything, but it was clear that Exodus was not going to sit idly to see what happened. She picked up the girl's scent, and with a look of apology to him, and something much deeper in her golden orbs, she then took off. All he could do was watch, a forepaw lifting as he contemplated going after them. But he couldn't, he hadn't the endurance of the younger wolves, and he would likely only get himself killed and accomplish nothing. Or perhaps he'd be just in time to see them injured or dying.. He shook his head, not wanting to think about it. Please come back alive, both of you, he thought, his heart aching. He did not want to lose them, yet there was nothing he could do to make sure they went unharmed. He turned away, following after the others, where Damean had been made to go, truding along unwillingly. The young prince's safety was his next concern; though for now the boy was a temperamental youngster, he was still the spawn of their great King Damean, and Rawbones' friend. And Jaded. For their sake, and for his own sanity, he must ensure Damean Jr.'s longevity. Forgive me, please, if Exodus does not come back..he thought wearily, wishing so much that he could overpower this danger and bring them all to a safe haven.

But such was not a possibility, and reality could strike hard. He came upon the site where the others were gathered with Damean there. He seemed to be wracked with worry and anger, in a rage that he was being prevented from going after his beloved friend. He was slumped over, and the young fae Daija tried to comfort him. She was much too naive. Rawbones narrowed his eyes and trotted over to where Damean sat. He glared at Daija; he knew the fae was trying to comfort Damean, but she was much too optimistic and she seemed to be trying hard to be at the young prince's side, yet it was not what he desired. "Give him some space," his voice rumbled deeply, a flash of ivories to show that he was serious. He eyed the fae critically, tail flicking upward as he stood uncomfortably close to her, expecting her to move. Now he looked to Damean's slumped form, ignoring the femme. "Damean," he said sternly, though his expression softened for the boy, "This is the part where life gets real difficult. This is when you are helpless, and you have no choice but to trust in your packmates." He searched the prince's face, trying to meet his gaze, wondering what he was thinking and feeling. He wished he could do something to make Damean feel more at ease, but even he himself was overwhelmed with anxiety, and he knew this would be a long wait as they struggled to keep their patience, longing to see if their loved ones would survive.

He wasn't going to sugarcoat anything, though. That would only create more anger when things didn't go as expected. Rawbones was not one to keep promises he couldn't make, and he couldn't promise that Echo or Exodus would come out alright. He still didn't even know what the threat was, only that it was strong enough to make the Earth tremble beneath their paws while the small creatures took flight. "But just remember that all the trust and faith in the world won't guarantee the outcome you desire," he said, knowing this would be no comfort to the boy, but it was reality, "Prepare yourself for an outcome that is not at all what you wanted." Then his softer expression was replaced with hardness, and he looked away from Damean. Would the youngster understand? Could he accept it? This might be the first hardship of his life, but it wouldn't be the last. Life was full of letdowns and irreversible mistakes. Much as Rawbones knew that these were a fact of life, he dearly hoped that this instance would not be one of them. He couldn't stand to lose Exodus at this point, and dear Echo.. there was still so much time left to enjoy with them. And Damean would be destroyed by either of their losses as well. Rawbones knew he could hardly tolerate his own pain, what would he do if he needed to somehow comfort another's heartache? Turning away from the young man, Rawbones began to pace, his gaze bearing into the ground, the look on his face of building distress and anger. He had to know what was going to happen, but only time would tell, and this was going to be an eternity of a wait..

He watched Exodus run off after a few words as Damean was guided forward. In his opinion, it was about time, but didn't comment as he followed them to their destination. They were the only ones there currently, and he felt a hum of warning. Being as fast as she was, Petra should have been back, unless...

What if she wound up in the middle of whatever it was? He looked down from their vantage point, mind coming to a decision. His voice was clipped as Blade said to Rawbones and anyone else present after the elder finished speaking to Damean, "We need our lead healer in case something close to the worst happens." Up here, the trees couldn't echo the sound and confuse their hearing, so he knew exactly where the source was coming from. With a last glance to Damean, he said, "You will need to be able to trust us and our capabilities in a situation as we you, best sooner than later. Exodus has just as much an emotional stake, if not more than you, and feels just as strong about finding her, and currently is more equipped to help her, knowing some healing. Know she would die to protect her because of all this."

Those were his parting words before giving Rawbones a nod for his wishes of success for Exodus before heading in an easternly direction. Petra's course took her near the source, so he'd have to get close, and he now knew what was currently safely close enough, having spotted the distant mass of brown moving as one. Now into the trees and descending, he had to keep his guard up in case the mass changed direction, as he couldn't yet determine where it was headed. As he ran, he barked out Petra's name, hoping she was just taking cover and was merely blocked off from returning. If she was injured...

A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Empty
PostSubject: Re: A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd    A New Reign: Jabbar Junayd - Page 9 Icon_minitimeTue Nov 13, 2012 4:44 pm

He often wondered of other wolves, of what they might do in the situations he continuously found himself in. This place had tainted him, an air of softness had clouded his once sick mind. Perhaps it remained, and his actions hadn't changed from the playful antics and cryptic messages. Still, a younger Zai would've done away with a fae like Bloodeye. If the woman wasn't banished, she was maimed to a useless degree. More often then not, she would be forcefully taken and then left for nothing. He had ruled ruthlessly, and now his mitts hadn't spilt blood in a long time. The educated hessian had learned that his quick tongue was far more valuable and vastly more effective. Would another hessian raise another bruja's whelps? Or would they do away with them as Zai would, without a second thought. It was always intriguing to think of such trivial things, despite being ultimately useless. Her words hit his auds without much acknowledgment, the drake had known she was incapable of such acts. There was a bond between mother and child, one unlike anything a wolf would ever experience again. Perhaps the feeling was mutual, and he imaged for most sane wolves it was. It wasn't the case for Luxura, his mother's blood had only been a little sweeter than his fathers. And Zai would never admit to the small remorse that had punctured his chest when he spilt her blood.

Her next words had initiated a deeper contemplation, one that had drifted through his mind recently. Merciful. Her tone told him all he needed, her intentions weren't to say he was soft hearted. She was appreciating that his desires still ran for her, that oppose to attacking and maiming her he was accepting her faults. This settled in Zaiaku a mixture of irritation, and content. Bloodeye's demeanor had taken on a frailty that didn't sit well with the image he recalled of their first meeting, he wouldn't be seen with a woman who would not hold her own against him. In some ways this situation had been his fault, and in those ways he sought a fight. But then, Zai always sought to fight. A battle of tongues rather than claws. Where was the quick witted and sadistic fae that had enticed him to over throw a pack? The allure of power had been strong for both of them, and now he faced a whimpering fae. He wanted an equal, not a subject. Perhaps that would change upon his return as well, as he was sure much would. His disappearing act wouldn't go over as well as it had, Zai was sure to be gone for longer this time. That elicited him in him excitement, for it meant the pack would be much older. Damean would hopefully fill into the full King he was meant to be, and if his chances were on his side the bruja would have Echo next to him. Their innocence might blind them of what was plain to the others, but in time it would fester into a powerful pairing. That very fact made his leave ever more important.

Her final lyrics left another form of thrill in him, a much more primal feeling. What could Zaiaku do with a whole new set of minions? What kind of demons could they create to cause havoc to the lands of FnI. His past carried many litters, with countless women, but this could be much different. "He alone, who owns the youth, gains the future." The lyrics fell with a smirk, and he wondered if she would pick up on his meaning. There was a pleasantness to being in Jabbar, being apart of a pack in the only way he knew how. But the notion of ruling, of being Alpha once more, well any who have wielded such power would understand the need to acquire it again. Perhaps on his travels he might find others so willing to be ruled and take over a territory, it was easy to pick among the lone lowlifes. Of course there might be those who sought to take his place, but the very first essential for success is a perpetually constant and regular employment of violence. "My dear, I will return, and the dream you offered me upon our first meeting will come to pass." Zaiaku said with the ever present jester tone, as if everything was a big joke. He pressed himself to her side for a moment, and then his mitts carried him away with the wind. Out past Shadow Mountains and the whole land of FnI.
